The stage of The Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, TN came alive with the sounds of youth fueled indie-rock. Leaving a nostalgic taste for the 80’s 90’s in the air. On March 2nd 2019, opening for Calpurnia was Lunar Vacation. Fans cheered as the music began to flow.

Calpurnia’s fans welcomed Finn (on the vocals), Ayla(lead guitar), Malcolm (on the drums), and Jack (bass). Lines were long and some even camped out waiting to be in the front of stage. I quickly found that these fans have a legitimate love for the band. Sold out, standing in the freezing cold, screaming and holding signs everyone was eyeing back stage waiting for the members to walk onto the stage.

Calpurnia emerged form the suburbs of Vancouver, utilizing the nostalgic melodies of Their past and making their own authentic rhythms. Calpurnia the band, has an authentic chemistry among themselves and they are able to translate that into fascinating works of music.

Don’t forget to follow them this summer as they tour for their EP. Calpurnia will also be at ShakyKnees Festival in Atlanta, Ga and Forecastle Festival in Kentucky. Check out the links below for upcoming tour dates!
