It was a rainy day in Nashville, TN Sunday, but thankfully the skies cleared just before several incredibly talented musicians from Austin, TX arrived at the Historic Ryman Auditorium to deliver an eclectic performance that did not disappoint those in attendance!
Opening the show was five piece combo Los Coast, comprising of Trey Privott (lead vocals, guitar), John Courtney (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Megan Hartman (bass), Damien Llanes (drums), and Natalie White (keys). This psychedelic-pop-soul group had the diverse audience moving and grooving to their unique sound! Be sure to check out their new album coming in June 2019!
Blues Rock Musician Gary Clark Jr. never seems to disappoint with his live performances and tonight was no exception! Coming on stage with his signature hat and relaxed style, he roars the crowd into anticipation with songs from his 2012 Blak and Blu album as well as a selection from the new This Landalbum. After dazzling the audience with solo performances of Things are Changin’ and The Governor, Gary asks the audience, “Are your ears rested? Because I’m about to **** them up!”. And that he did!
He went on to give the audience something to really get excited about with his title track, This Land, and closed with the amazing Pearl Cadillac before an encore with even more excitement! Trey Privott from Los Coast joined Gary on stage to perform Low Down Rolling Stone and Gary wrapped it all up with another great rendition of Come Together.
Gary Clark Jr. will continue his “This Land” tour in Australia and will return back to the U.S. in May at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, TN. Tune in to Lightning 100 daily to catch Garys music aired!
