Of the release, Diplo says, “‘Get Free’ is one of our favorite songs we ever made. It’s a Major Lazer classic, the first song that really put us on. We still play it all the time and Amber’s voice is just legendary. We wanted to bring in our friend Chrome Sparks to breathe some new life into it.” The remix premieres as part of Major Lazer’s career spanning Major Lazer Essentials compilation released last year.

Essentials highlights Major Lazer’s reach across the globe and the vast range of their influences and influence to date.

The “Get Free” remix will also be available on this Friday’s extended release of Major Lazer’s classic albums Free the Universe and Peace Is the Mission Extended. The new releases will also include additional remixes that have never before released on DSPs, namely “Be Together,” “Too Original,” “Light It Up” and “Jah No Partial,” plus a brand new remix of “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)” from DJ Maphorisa & DJ Raybel.
